Week 11 Picks - In Control
The Packers control their destiny. Sort of. For whatever that's worth.
I have long said that if you have to bet on anyone or anything, bet on yourself.
There is so much that's out of your control in life. If you're going to be putting your money (or livelihood or whatever) on the line, you might as well have it depend on something that is within your control, at least a little bit.
That's why I'm probably a little more encouraged than most when looking at where the Packers find themselves through 10 weeks of football. Yes, it hasn't been great. Nobody wants to be 4-6. It's a big hole, and climbing out will take some doing.
But it's encouraging to me that the Packers are still in control. Sure, there is a lot of work to be done, but if the Packers take care of their own business the road ahead gets a lot easier.
Of course, they're only in this situation because they failed to handle the stuff they needed to handle in September and October. Dropping winnable games — much less games you should win — will do that to your season.
But there is still a way out, and the responsibility for it still rests primarily with the Packers. Whether they can handle that responsibility remains to be seen, but at least they still control a lot of their own destiny.
